The story behind the image
Apart from its ferry port to the Outer Hebrides, Ullapool in Scotland is home to a small fleet of traditional fisher boats. However, fishing is not as important for the area as in former times, and tourism has become a key industry for Ullapool and the entire region today.
But I still like seeing these boats moored right next to the ferry port – a nice, peaceful maritime image. We were not so happy about the dark clouds in the back but learned that these belong to the typically fast-changing Scottish weather. For the image, they add a lot of drama, though, which is nice.
