The story behind the image
During our 2003 trip to the United States, we visited Monument Valley with its breathtaking beauty.
I shot this image not far away from the Visitor Center – just about 1.4 Miles on the well maintained dirt road. It shows the West Mitten Butte in the front with the Sentinel Mesa as backdrop. In the distance on the right is the rock formation called The Bear and Rabbit Summit.
The low sun was casting long shadows already, highlighting the trees and the fact that it is not just all red rocks and brown sand but in fact quite green.
A very good shot in my view.
