The story behind the image
The island of Mallorca used to be known for its extreme parties – especially from tourists at El Arenal. But this is just a small spot and does unjustice to the rest of the island. In 2006 we spent 10 days to discover the other, less known side of the island.
The islands’ beauty can be easily spotted, and it can be awesome, like in the North-West where the rough cliffs of the west coast meet the Mediterranean Sea. The island seems to combine many places in one place, and you can do almost everything from sailing to hiking, from partying to relaxing. It turned out that ten days were not enough to discover all the attractions, especially when it’s a hot summer! Relentlessly, we took our rental car to some of the most remote places, like Formentor or Punta de Capdepera to report back home how awesome Mallorca really is.
This photo shows the secluded bay of Cala Llombards in the South-East with a nice Finca overtowering the northern side of the bay. I am totally in love with the clear turquoise water that created a Caribbean flair for us.
I’d go there again, anytime.
