The story behind the image

A friend took us to Locarno Beach which is situated west of Vancouver in British Columbia. He promised us a breathtaking view at the skyline of the city.

And he was right! This was probably one of the most beautiful locations in the city. People were enjoying the warm weather and shared the beach with the seagulls. Only the dark clouds over the city were concerning us slightly as we were just at the beginning of our long trip through western Canada (and we have a long history of rainy vacations!) But the entire trip would all turn out extremely well, and I’d consider this one of the best trips of my life.

The image is a bit grainy as I used a 400 ASA film to avoid camera shake with the extreme tele, but viewed at 100% this really adds to the mood, giving the image a genuine vintage look. 🙂
