The story behind the image
This is the Tour des Remparts, one of the watchtowers in Obernai, France, captured on a clear afternoon in September. The name refers to Les Remparts, the defensive walls that has protected Obernai for centuries, especially in the medieval times. (Today the walls surrounding the town center are just a tourist attraction.) The watchtowers were essential as they enabled the guards to spot and report any suspicious activity in advance.
The sun casted a warm light and long shadows already and only just very few clouds were visible.
While it is certainly not spectacular by any means, I do like the image.
