The story behind the image
Another short trip to Tuscany in Italy brought us to the beautiful town of Volterra in October 2002. It’s not as busy as Florence, Siena, or San Gimignano, but it has all the charms you would expect from a historic town in Tuscany: old buildings, small streets, and traditional Italian lifestyle.
My image shows the Battistero di San Giovanni Battista and the Campanile della Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta. We had some heavy rain in the morning, but when the sun came out, the rain-loaden clouds acted as a dramatic backdrop for the buildings in the front.
