The story behind the image
It’s awesome to drive from the northern part of Tuscany (in our case, Pienza) into Florence and, finally, into the Chianti area. After a recommended stop in Florence you will certainly enjoy the smaller roads and slower traffic (which is also related to the fact that the smaller regional roads are not always in perfect condition, and you should expect potholes enroute.) If weather permits, open your windows and enjoy the tasty Tuscan air while you take the turns of the roads.
We approached the historic town Panzano in Chianti on the SR222, and the town looked picture perfect. It was easy to stop and take this photo with a moderate wide angle. I adore the olive trees, the greens, and the gentle up and down of the skyline, crowned by the Chiesa Parrocchiale di Santa Maria.
This is pure Tuscany, and I love it.
