The story behind the image
Ten years ago we visited the busy town of Lazise at the Lago di Garda in Italy. The weather in Lazise had been just so-so during our stay, but on that evening in June the approaching sunset over the lake was stunning. We had been walking the Lungolago Marconi, and the dark clouds were breaking up, giving way to bright beams of sunlight.
I found a position that put the origin of the beams in the horizontal center, capturing the lake as much as possible. The mountain range behind the western lake shores was just visible as a silhouette. The tiny Ricoh CX1 was doing an excellent job to capture this beautiful moment.
