The story behind the image
This year we spent the second week of our Pentecost holidays in – you guessed it already – Bellaria Igea Marina, a lovely town situated close to Rimini at the Italian Adriatic Coast.
One morning I grabbed my camera and explored the harbor and beach around sunrise time. Nothing beats gazing at the sea, breathing the mild, fresh air, and enjoying the silence and peace.
This image take a look from the Molo di Ponente that channels the Fiume Uso and acts as entry for the ships in the harbour. On its southern side is the part of the town that is known as Igea Marina. Since our last visit in September, a large ferris wheel has been erected which was now illuminated by the rising sun.
I like the balance between the warm orange tones of the rising sun and the cool blue tones of the sky. It’s like a battle between day and night.
