The story behind the image
When we explored the beautiful town of Cesenatico near Rimini in Italy, we did not just take the walk along the stunning historical harbour with countless ships but also went into some of the backstreets.
And I found this wall opposite of Largo Cappuccini, 2. Some ignorant tourists must have placed their empty sundaes into a square hole in the wall. Booo! But I liked the structure of the detoriated brick wall and the two bright, colorful sundaes. So I captured the image. On 3rd September 2022.
Much later I found out that the sundaes must have been standing there for quite a while, because I checked the location on Google Streetview. And indeed, at Largo Cappuccini there was the brick wall, opposite house number 2. There was the square hole in the wall. And there were the two sundaes. Even the scoops seem to be in the same position. Google claims that this photo has been shot in – June 2022!
This made me smile brightly. Can you imagine that two sundaes can be put into a square hole in a wall and remain untouched for at least two months?
