The story behind the image
Monument Valley is genuinely monumental. Its proportions, its unique rock formations that seem to never change (and yet change all the time), and the desert-like appearance.
Fortunately, the valley has several dirt roads and scenic routes that can be used with standard sedan cars without having to fear a breakdown or massive potholes.
This photo shows a silver sedan as it passes one of the many rock formations embedded in a red landscape. As such, the car looks like the alien object it is. For this post I wondered whether I should crop the car away? Then I remembered that 20 years ago I wanted that car to be part of the image because it is such a gross contrast. The car is the eye catcher. It also tells the story that you don’t have to be afraid of exploring the valley with your car.
Those who don’t want the car to be in the frame can easily crop the image as needed, like this:

Both images work well, and I do like them both.
