The story behind the image
Here’s a fun shot of a spring trip to Zurich in 2007. On the Bürkliplatz there was a historical ferris wheel. It was late morning, almost noon, and – of course – noone was actually riding on the ferris wheel. So I looked for a position that would just place the empty fun ride and the old, beautiful trees from the Bürkliplatz into the frame, with lots of blue sky.
It could be anywhere in the world, really, but I like the idea that this empty ferris wheel was standing right in the city center of the Swiss capital. Who would actually ride it later that day? Maybe some finance wizards would take a ride? (Just imagine the bankers in their suits talking straight business while on a ride. A hilarious thought!) 🙂
