The story behind the image
The last few days before Christmas usually put me in a sad mood, because my mother died 18 years ago, on the 22nd December 2004, at the age of just 62 in Kiel, Germany.
This is one of the last photos that I shot of her. It’s a snapshot really, captured in a restaurant in Kiel while on a short visit.
