The story behind the image
My mother Inga was born in July 1942, and this image shows her sister Editha as she pushes the stroller with Inga along the patio of their home in Kiel Wik in Germany. Editha had been born in the previous summer and had celebrated her first birthday a couple of weeks before. My grandmother Edith supervises this activity, slightly amused and in a good mood. She had recovered well from the birth and enjoyed the summer with her two girls.
