The story behind the image
We were up early to drive 45 minutes from Jasper up to Maligne Lake, one of the many must-sees in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The sky was clear, and there were still relatively few tourists. After a short walk from the parking we were stunned by the breathtaking beauty of the lake with Mount charlton and the Queen Elizabeth Ranges as backdrop. And in the front – the iconic Maligne Lake Boat House! Awesome.
Fellow photographers will want to visit the lake in the afternoon to make a photo of the boathouse to get a nice full red on the roof of the boathouse. Shoot against the sun is fun – not. Yet, I love the shot anyway, because of the saturated colors.
