Staubbachfall Lauterbrunnen Switzerland

We recommend to visit the Schilthorn mountain, because it is less crowded, and it allows you to see the major attraction - the three mountains Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Obviously you can't don that if you go up to those three giants! Your ascend to the Schilthorn begins in the village Lauterbrunnen with its tall Staubbachfall waterfalls.

Mürren Switzerland

Car-free at 1,650 meters above the sea, the tiny village called Mürren is the base for your trip to the Schilthorn. The beautiful village is fully dedicated to their guests, be it summer or winter. For further information, please visit the Mürren homepage.

Schilthorn Piz Gloria Switzerland

This is the top of the Schilthorn mountain. The turning restaurant called "Piz Gloria" performs a full rotation in 55 Minutes and offers spectacular views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau which are situated opposite of the Schilthorn. If you think you have seen the location before - you have! In 1968 the James Bond movie "On her Majesty's Secret Service" with George Lazenby as 007 had been filmed here. Read more about it at the excellent Schilthorn Piz Gloria Homepage.

Schilthorn Switzerland

This is the viewing platform of the Schilthorn. Even during summer, be prepared for some low temperatures! Remember that you are located 2,970 meters above the sea!

The last photo from the Schilthorn viewing platform, across the fabulous Alpine surroundings. Now let's move on to Luzern...
