![]() This day, we had driven far too many miles and needed a hotel room. We did not want to go to Rome, so we decided to rest in Frascati, in the outskirts of Rome. Frascati has little to offer for the tourist besides the wine, so we headed southward the next morning. The picture shows the Lago di Albano, a vulcanic lake close to Frascati and Rome. I don't know why the colors of this photo look like a Technicolor picture from the 50s, but I think it still looks nice enough... |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is the village of Nemi, directly at the Lago di Nemi, another vulcanic lake. It has been appointed one of the most beautiful villages of Italy by the German magazine GEO Saison. |

Accommodation |
When we stayed at the hotel in 2000 it was still called the Eden Tuscolano. Apparently, the house is now run
under a new name - Domus Park Hotel Tuscolana. Its location outside of Frascati has not changed though.
It still resides along the road between Rome and Frascati. This is perfect when you want to visit Rome without the
stress of actually driving in Rome, or when you want to pass Rome on your way to the South. The rooms are comfortable,
functional, and surprisingly quiet. The prices are reasonable, even in 2007.
The Zanzig.com Rating: *** (good) What does that mean?
